Dry or dehydrated?

I have gotten some great questions! I promise I will answer them all!

Q:My skin is more on the oily side, but it still flakes and acts like it's dry. What kind of skin type is that?

A: My 4 year old nephew will tell you to make sure you drink lots of water, so you don't get dehydrated. There is just something cute about a 4 year old saying the word dehydrated. Anyway... It sounds like your skin is dehydrated. Skin still produces oil, but can have a loss of moisture. (There is a difference people.) So here comes a metaphor... Dehydrated skin is like a sponge without water. Your skin can feel dry-even if your skin is producing oil, the cells just don't have enough water.

Causes:
*The sun
*incorrect products being used
*Not enough daily water intake

Solution:
*Wear sunscreen!! Everyday.
*Come see me. I do a free consultation if you are concerned about your skin and the products you are using.
*Drink more water. Lots and lots more.
